Teachers - ACS Sustainable Management of Hotels and Restaurants

THE CONTINUING EDUCATION AND BUSINESS SERVICES OF THE CENTRE D’ÉTUDES COLLÉGIALES À CHIBOUGAMAU is looking to hire teachers for the Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS) “Sustainable Management of Hotels and Restaurants – LJA.20”.

The training program will be delivered in English.

In-person teaching and workplace-based instruction in the Cree communities of Northern Quebec will be preferred. However, the course delivery method could be discussed with the person responsible for the program.

Partial coverage for lodging and travel expenses will be provided for in-person teaching.

FALL 2024
Evening, daytime and/or weekend schedule
For this semester, two of the following courses will be offered based on the qualifications of the applicants

LJA.20-A24-01
Course: 330-703-FE
Title: Heritage, culture and sustainable development
Duration: 60 hours
Requirements: Hold a bachelor’s degree in history or a related field;
Possessing a graduate diploma in eco-advising or any other advanced degree related to sustainable development will be considered an asset;
Have 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.

LJA.20-A24-02
Course: 430-943-FE
Title: Sustainable hotel and restaurant developments
Duration: 45 hours
Requirements: Hold a bachelor’s degree in tourism and hotel management, administration, eco-construction, or any other degree in the field of hotel or restaurant management combined with relevant experience;
Possessing a graduate diploma in eco-advising or any other advanced degree related to sustainable development will be considered an asset;
Have 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.

LJA.20-A24-03
Course: 412-733-FE
Title: Business in first language (English)
Duration: 45 hours
Requirements: Hold a bachelor’s degree in tourism and hotel management, administration, or any other degree in the field of hotel or restaurant management combined with relevant experience;
Have 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.

LJA.20-A24-04
Course: 604-705-FE
Title: Business in second language (French)
Duration: 75 hours
Requirements: Hold a bachelor’s degree in teaching French as a second language or any other combination of education and relevant experience;
Have 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.

LJA.20-A24-05
Course: 430-953-FE
Title: Responsible sourcing of goods and services
Duration: 45 hours
Requirements: Hold a bachelor’s degree in tourism and hotel management, administration, or any other degree in the field of hotel or restaurant management combined with relevant experience;
Possessing a graduate diploma in eco-advising or any other advanced degree related to sustainable development will be considered an asset;
Have 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Exigences

Specific requirements:

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills;
  • Have relevant experience in applying online teaching strategies using digital tools, particularly in the use and operation of the digital learning environments Moodle and Teams;
  • Have a good knowledge and openness to working with information and communication technologies (ICT) and be able to provide the necessary techno-pedagogical support to students;
  • Have relevant experience with First Nations or Inuit communities will be considered an asset.
