The CDL (Creative Destruction Lab) is a unique program for massively-scalable, seed-stage science-based technology startups. CDL provides milestone-based coaching with the goal of maximizing equity-value creation. The program’s mentors are successful entrepreneurs/equity investors with years of experience in building and scaling technology-oriented companies.
Role and responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Venture Analyst will both support in delivering CDL-High quality events for mentors, investors and tech founders as well as the 2022/23 program year recruitment and selection by identifying and building relationships with potential candidates for the CDL Network. This entails identifying viable CDL venture applicants and supporting the ongoing implementation of the customer relationship management system.
General duties / Expectations:
CDL Operations and logistics:
- Coordinate event logistics of CDL Sessions (4 per year), including in-person and online event support, staffing, session material delivery and social event logistics.
- Coordinate and plan logistics for all support staff, speakers, presenters, faculty and attendees of CDL sessions.
- Coordinate, organize and lead the execution of ad-hoc CDL events.
- Assist with the execution and planning of CDL Super Session, Interview Week, and general program management.
- Track progress, deadlines, and priorities of all projects,
- Prepare Google Docs, Sheets, Slides or Airtable documents as needed.
Venture Management support:
- Work proactively with Venture Managers to identify and create lists/maintain databases of potential contacts to build a strong pipeline of CDL-Montreal startup applicants from Quebec, Eastern US, and other international territories (guidelines will be provided),
- Contribute to creative strategies and events for generating venture leads by collecting information, creating databases and maintaining searchable resources in regards to the recruitment strategy,
- Support initial outreach, background research and relationship management of key stakeholders,
- Pursue an “Attitude of Learning and Development” about the ecosystem by attending startup events, conferences, and meetups relevant to the AI and Supply Chain streams and science-based projects/startups,
- Maintain venture candidate information in Salesforce and CRM to support reporting and marketing automation,
- Contribute to workflows and processes to ensure the completion of recruitment-related data being logged by all active recruiters in the CDL customer relationship management (CRM) system (Salesforce),
- Follow processes and workflows to ensure the proper use of the CDL marketing automation platform (Pardot),
- Other reasonable tasks as the role evolves.
Profile
- Proactive self-starter who is able to work independently efficiently and also a positive team player,
- Diligence and great attention to detail in the production, refinement, analysis and communication of information.
- High level of competency in the use of spreadsheets and above average ability to use or learn to use technology tools such as customer relationship management systems, marketing automation platforms and other project management tools,
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills,
- Experience with Salesforce is an asset,
- Experience working with or manipulating data is an asset

- Hourly rate of 24,48 $
