DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAM DEANS
Staffing (related to personnel under his/her responsibility):
• Responsible for the overall coordination, distribution and organization of work among staff and the evaluation of priorities of tasks with the goal of providing efficient and equitable workloads.
• Participate in the selection of support personnel in the Deans’ area.
• Update job descriptions appropriate to classification as needed.
• Prepare and conduct performance evaluations for support personnel.
• Make recommendations for professional development.
• Responsible for the application of the Support Staff Collective agreement.
General Administration:
• Support deans in program development, planning and revision. Ensure program revision documents, including program planners/competency grids are up to date.
• Support program deans with CEEC Quality Assurance initiatives.
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of strategic objectives, annual priorities and departmental work plans.
• Act on new or amended Ministry documents relevant to Deans and provide preliminary interpretation.
• Support program Deans in responding to student requests and problems as needed.
• Represent Program Deans at external meetings as required.
• Review, analyze, develop, document and implement general administrative procedures. For example, provide research and support for pedagogical and Program activities like 5.2 projects, learning communities, internal students / globalization of curriculum.
• Ensure that information on College website and intranet portal related to areas under the Deans is up-to-date
• Assist the Deans in the follow-up of departmental workplans.
• Assist departments in their identification and interpretation of student success data (i.e. grade analysis summary).
• Ensure coordination between all the student success initiatives (Student Services – Academic Administration – ITS - CLTRC)
• Help promote academic projects such as team teaching, e-learning, peer tutoring, learning communities, etc.
• Support workshops on pedagogical strategies and innovations that support student success in collaboration with the CLTRC
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a specialization appropriate to the employment
Specific Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills in English and French
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong organization, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
• Excellent ability to coordinate and oversee simultaneous projects to ensure completion by established deadlines
• Knowledge of the Quebec CEGEP system and College programs would be an asset
• Knowledge of SRIC, CLARA, and Omnivox systems would be an asset
Testing may be required to demonstrate proficiency in and knowledge of the following:
English and French (proficiency - oral and written)

Salaire annuelle: $45,762.00-$61,014.00
